Tank containers

Company Global Container Service provides a full range of services for tank containers 20 - 30 ft. for transportation and stationary storage of a large list of liquid and gaseous cargo.

We provide a tank container of various models and modifications for sale on the territory of Ukraine and in other countries, lease for various liquid and liquid cargoes both for stationary storage and for transportation by auto and railway transport.

We also provide all types of tank container repairs at our container terminal: from replacing gaskets on valves, filling and loading fittings, to major repairs of the tank itself, restoration of the tank insulation and the geometry of the tank frame.

All used tank containers supplied undergo pre-sale training at our container terminal, which includes hydraulic and pneumatic testing of the tank, testing of tank container fittings with replacement of seals and gaskets, testing of the heating system, sealing the insulation, full painting, replacement of mandatory marking, drawing a logo (advertising) of your company.

The warranty period for tank containers sold by the company is up to one year (tightness of the tank, operability of valves, operability of heating, for all main units and elements)!

A set of supplied documents with a tank container:

  •          Contract of sale
  •          Customs declaration
  •          CSC certificate
  •          Expense and tax invoices

It is recommended to transport and store the following goods in tank containers:

From food products:

  •          - mineral water
  •          - milk products
  •          - nutritional supplements
  •          - various juice concentrates
  •          - alcohol-containing liquids
  •          - edible oils, etc.

From industrial goods:

  •          - paints and varnishes
  •          - liquefied gas
  •          - chemicals
  •          - saline solution
  •          - acid
  •          - petroleum products
  •          - oil lubricants, etc.

Quality and reliability

High-quality stainless steel, from which tanks of tank containers are made, resistant to the influence of aggressive products. SS 316 L, 316 TI, Z6CNDT 17.12 are the most famous steel grades. The frame of the tank container is made according to ISO standards, thanks to which they are reliable when stacking and transporting. The load is reliably protected from leakage by the drain fittings Perolo or Fort Vale. Also, tank containers are equipped with a steam heating system b with a layer of thermal insulation to facilitate unloading at low ambient temperatures.

Safety

Bureau Veritas, Lloyd's Register, ABS, SGS, Germanyscher Lloyd, Det Norske Veritas are international classification control communities under whose supervision tank containers are produced.

International Organization of Tank Containers ITCO "Safe Handling of Tank Containers" has detailed rules for safe operation

Convenience

Tank containers are very convenient for multimodal transportation using various types of transportation (by rail, car, water transport). Tank containers can be transported without moving the cargo after changing transport, unlike railway and road tanks, since a 20-foot container is the basis of transport module. This advantage ensures the safety and security of the cargo during transportation. Tank containers are very convenient for storing liquids both in a prepared area (container terminal) and in an unprepared area, since they do not require a ready-made site. The use of tank containers significantly reduces transportation costs compared to transporting goods of the same volume in barrels: a tank container is able to accommodate 60% more of the transported goods, occupying the same space for the same transportation cost. Tank containers can be used many times, their design guarantees ease of use and economy.

Types of tank containers

Tank containers are divided into several types, which determine the ability to transport a particular cargo:

  •          IMO 0

- the ability to transport cargoes that do not require unloading under pressure (mineral water, milk, vegetable oil and other non-hazardous food products), capacity from 20,000 to 30,000 liters, tank walls 2 mm thick. They can be equipped with thermal insulation and steam heating.

  •          IMO 1

- the ability to transport all types of liquid chemical cargo. Volume from 14,000 to 30,000 liters, wall thickness from 4 to 7 mm, depending on the load, there may be an upper drainage mechanism. The optimal working pressure of the flask is from 2.65 to 6 atmospheres. The presence of electric heating, steam heating, as well as a layer of thermal insulation is possible.

  •          IMO 2

- the ability to transport a variety of food products that may have a hazard class, chemical products transported in a tank with a bottom discharge. Volume from 21,000 to 30,000 liters, wall thickness from 3 to 4 mm. The optimum pressure in the tank is from 1.75 to 3 atmospheres. The presence of a layer of thermal insulation, steam heating and electric heating is possible.

  •          IMO 5

- the safest tank - a container for the transportation and storage of liquefied gas and other flammable substances that need a certain pressure in the tank.

The T-code system is used all over the world, according to Portable Tank Instruction

The most common codes are:

  •          T11 - bottom discharge, working pressure 4 bar.
  •          T12 - there is a bursting disc.
  •          T14 - top discharge, working pressure 4 bar.
  •          T4 - working pressure 1.77 bar.
  •          T50 - gas containers - tanks.

Tank containers are mainly made:

  1.      heated with hot water or steam, or without
  2.      with or without thermal insulation
  3.      in order to exclude contact of the cargo with air and to be able to unload products by the method of squeezing with inert gases, it can be equipped with a siphon pipe
  4.      lined acid tank
  5.      with or without a ladder, thermometer, walkway on top, etc.
  6.      tank made of stainless steel 316 or 304 or structural steel.
